Industry leaders to become new CIC Co-Chairs
Industry leaders Frances Crewdson and Tom Gray have been elected as the new Co-Chairs of the Cannabis Industry Council (CIC), taking on the baton from Dr. Callie Seaman and Jamie Bartley.
Frances has been Chair of the CIC Standards Working Group since 2024, as well as being a Director of CannDo Consulting. Tom has been CEO of Lumino, a leading cannabis recruitment agency, since 2018.
Tom and Frances were elected to their new roles by the CIC’s Executive Committee, which oversees the organisation on behalf of members.
Incoming CIC Co-Chair Tom Gray said:
“I’m genuinely honoured to be elected as Co-Chair of the CIC and excited to work alongside Frances Crewdson and the rest of the members. I look forward to making a positive impact on the organisation, and helping drive the UK cannabis industry forward.
“A special shout-out to Callie and Jamie, who have volunteered so much time and effort to this position for the sake of the industry – we truly appreciate their commitment.”
Incoming CIC Co-Chair Frances Crewdson commented:
“I am very excited to be taking on the Co-Chair role with Tom. Jamie and Callie have done excellent work over the last two years and I’m much looking forward to building on that success.”
Jamie and Callie became Co-Chairs of the CIC in May 2023. They have played a vital role in the Council’s development – helping to professionalise the organisation, enhance the membership offering, and successfully press for policy reform in areas like industrial hemp licensing.
Outgoing CIC Co-Chair Jamie Bartley said:
“It has been an honour to serve the membership over the last two years, alongside Callie my fellow Co-Chair. I’m wishing the new, incoming Co-Chairs all the best for their new role and looking forward to seeing the continued development of the CIC, under their leadership.”
Outgoing CIC Co-Chair Dr Callie Seaman stated:
“The last two years have been a whirlwind and an absolute pleasure to serve the Council and membership with my Co-Chair Jamie Bartley. It is with both sadness and joy that I pass the baton over to Frances and Tom, to take the CIC into the next chapter.”
Frances and Tom will begin their two-year term on 25 June 2025, with a handover taking place at the CIC AGM in London that day. Event registration details can be found here.
The CIC Board was also recently strengthened with the appointment of industry expert Nick Pateras of Roberge Management Consulting.
